still numb

ugh, it's been 12 hours and part of my face is still a little numb from the dentist. oh well. I was so productive today! I made a light box to photograph some of my knitting to put in my etsy store. I'll be posting the results tomorrow. I am also working for my mom who's a genealogist to earn money for spring break. I don't know where I'm going yet, but I will be going somewhere for my first and last spring break vacation. It will be my last because next year and every year until I retire I will be buried in tax returns at that time of the year. To top the day off, I went to a comedy club with some friends for ladies night. I thought getting called out at the gym by the spinning teacher was bad...being at a comedy club in a room of seriously only like 20 people and getting called out multiple times is way worse.

7 hours till the snow storm arrives. yay. get me out of indiana.

sooo cold

I think it's 10 degrees right now. As much as I want to leave my house, it's just not going to happen! So, I'm watching Alvin and the Chipmunks with my little sister and playing with polyvore.com.

Hair-do

I'm going to attempt this tomorrow. There are instructions on the website, but basically it seems like you pull your hair back into a ponytail, french braid towards the bottom, then put it in a ponytail, and tuck the ponytail under the braid. Doesn't seem too hard...

I hope I can keep this up!

Two things I want to keep doing this semester: blogging and running. It's easy while I don't have classes or homework or other commitments but I really want to keep it up!  It doesn't sound like much but I ran a mile yesterday and didn't stop! Now I just need to be able to run 12 more!

Today I watched a cute movie. It's not the best movie I've ever seen but I love the cooking and blogging in it. It's called Julie and Julia.  It's a movie based on the blog of a lady named Julia who hated her job and needed something to give meaning to her life. She cooked her way through Julia Child's cook book, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. The kitchen below is a recreation of Julia Child's kitchen and it's gorgeous!

I'm also playing mom this week to my two sisters, complete with an SUV with those sports stickers on the back to take them places. I wanted to do something fun with them so I took them to a cute cupcake store in Indianapolis that I had heard about from my friend. She said it was "your type of place" because of the decorations on the inside. She was SOOO right!

cross training

my mom and I found out we get free aerobics/spinning/pilates classes at our gym so she signed us both up to do the 8:30 am spinning class. I have never been to one, only seen them on tv. I got a bike in the back and still got called out by the instructor BY NAME "Amy, how ya doin back there?" so embarrassing.

my sister has been begging me for a movie and popcorn day, so we're bringing out the zebra snuggies and watching Mama Mia. and I'm going to knit some scarves for my empty etsy shop!

It's almost 45 degrees so I'm gonna guess we won't have a white Christmas, but I still love this from Anthropologie!

New Design!

I think I like this look. I meant to save a screen of my old layout but I forgot. I may change the look before winter break is over though. For now, I've gotta finish making my ugly xmas sweater for tomorrow! [pictures will be posted when I get back to school because I forgot my camera cord :(  ]

Finally done

My marathon studying sessions are finally over! My last final, my accounting final, was at the end of finals week: a good and bad thing. Good because I needed the extra time to study, but bad because there were so many more fun things to do!

Plans for break:
  • blog makeover for Life's An Adventure
  • knit things for my etsy store
  • make my mom's digital scrapbooking etsy store
  • train for the mini marathon

I'm pretty excited to get started!

Fail.

It's been almost two months since my last post. Major fail. And of course I pick the weekend b efore finals to start back up...But, I have some cute store fronts to share! I went to Louisville, KY for my business frat's banquet and had some time before it started to walk around. We went to a stretch of road called Bardstown Road. It's about 40 miles long, but we picked a cute area near the hotel to walk around. Here are some of my favorite store fronts. ( I wish I had the guts to ask if I could take pictures on the inside because these stores were adorable!)

I will be posting more once I'm on winter break!

My summer "vacation"

I know it's way late, but I just got picnik premium and I love playing with it. This picture is from the Findlay Market in Cincinnati. We went there last summer and had to go back. I love these flowers. I want my future house to have these gorgeous flower things (I'm sure there's a word for them...).
